The Rotary Club of North Myrtle Beach wrapped up a busy November which included our Thanksgiving Food Drive and our Literacy Program at the local North Myrtle Beach Schools.
Each year the club labels coloring books, dictionaries and thesauruses with the student’s name for the kindergarteners, third graders and sixth graders of North Myrtle Beach. We then visit the classrooms and pass out the books to the students. It’s a program we look forward to every year. The club’s annual Thanksgiving Food Drive collected over 2,900 lbs. of food for the St. Delight’s Food Pantry. During one of the Rotary Club’s lunch meetings, we rolled up shopping bags, supplied by Boulineau’s, with the food drive flyer. Two days later, we dropped the rolled bags at the end of neighborhood driveways and on Saturday, November 22, we collected and delivered the food to St. Delight.
The North Myrtle Beach Rotary Club’s next big event is their Annual Golf Tournament to be held January 24th at Grande Dunes. The proceeds raised at this tournament will be providing scholarships to North Myrtle Beach High School seniors.
