District Governor Sandee Brooks addressed the Rotary Club of Georgetown on Tuesday, September 27th. District 7770 comprises the 25 eastern counties of South Carolina. Today, District 7770 encompasses 80 Rotary Clubs with over 5,000 members.
Sandee stressed the progress in Polio Plus, a Rotary initiative to rid the world of polio with matching dollar support from The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Currently there are three countries remaining that have cases of polio, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Nigeria. She also discussed District 7770’s initiative to promote Alzheimer’s research through the CART Fund. More Rotary Districts are joining in this effort from Georgia, Texas and other states.
