Carolina Forest Rotary Krispy Kreme Dash
What do doughnuts and runners have in common? Participation in the Rotary Club of Carolina Forest 5K fundraiser for their annual community youth service projects! Competitors in this USATF certified event will have the option of competing in the Doughnut Challenge or as a Casual Participant. Those confident in their Running and Doughnut Eating capabilities will run half the 5K course and then eat one dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts before continuing on with the second half of the race for an opportunity to win prizes and awards. Since the course has been measured and certified, area runners can also strive to beat their personal best times. Best of all, it’s all for a great cause!
The Rotary Club of Carolina Forest Sunrise has a variety of service projects that cater to the young children and students in our local community. Proceeds for the Carolina Forest Rotary Krispy Kreme Dash will go to fund annual service projects the Rotary Club sponsors throughout the year. Examples of these programs are the P Cubed project: Happy Feet, Clothing Closet, School Supplies, and The Dictionary Project. Each of these projects targets a specific need with young children and families in our community such as literacy advancement, and financial assistance.
Of course we have an alternate option to being a competitor for the faint of heart. You can register as a casual runner/walker where you can just take home your dozen doughnuts after the race rather than scarfing them down at the half waypoint. All participants of the Carolina Forest Rotary Krispy Kreme Dash will receive a race t-shirt to go along with their one dozen Krispy Kreme doughnuts. T-shirts are guaranteed if registered prior to October 23rd.
The race will be held on Saturday, November 4th at 8:00am. The USATF certified course will begin on Greenleaf Circle in Myrtle Beach, adjacent to the new Krispy Kreme on Rodeo Drive. For both the competitor and casual runner/walker registration, the race fee is $30 with a $2.50 sign up fee until September 30th. After September 30th, the race fee will increase to $35 plus the $2.50 sign up fee. Registration will be taken online prior to the race at https://goo.gl/Q6r8mv. Hope to see you there!
