The Rotary Club of Hampton County recently implemented a NEW service project:
Comfort Kits for Kids
These kits are for children (ages 18 and under) that have been removed from their homes due to a fire or other immediate need such as a family crisis. The Club delivered 36 of these to the Hampton Fire Department on June 21st, to Deputy Chief Tommy Smith (first photo). Rotarians featured in photo, Debbie Bishop-Phillips, President, President Elect, Kathleen Barnes, Treasurer, Mary Ann Watson, Debbie Elrod, Russell Laffitte and Joseph Williams. The kits will be distributed through all Fire Departments within our county and other Law Enforcement.
These items were all donated by members of our club. Dental Hygiene Kits were donated by our local dentist!
These clear drawstring bags include: (grouped by 3 age levels, babies – 3, 4 yrs. -12 yrs., and 13-18 years old).
o Stuffed Animal
o Toothbrush and toothpaste (Donated by Dr. Mills and Dr. Crews.)
o Wash cloth and soap
o Coloring book or activity book and crayons/colored pencils
o Journal (4 way test label inside) and pen
o Wipes, Kleenex, and other items.
This will be an ongoing project for our Club.
