Our Speaker on 9/5/2016 was Carl Gilmore, Georgetown County Fire/EMS on the subject of AED’s
Carl shared with the club how WE will save lives in Georgetown County through the Rotary Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) project. Using a Rotary District 7770 Grant, our club is partnering with the four other clubs in the Tidelands Area of Georgetown as well as with Surfside Rotary to place AED’s throughout.
Rotary AED’s are being placed in public areas, specifically in county and city playgrounds and recreational facilities. As AED’s are placed, they are being uploaded inAEDREGISTRY.ORG, an app on iPhone or Android that will lead a person to the closest available AED through GPS.
All businesses, schools, governmental bodies and individuals are encouraged to register AED’s through AEDREGISTRY.ORG. The life you save may be your own.
