Beaufort resident Nick Hunt is the 2016 recipient of the Rotary Bowl, the Rotary Club of Beaufort’s highest honor. Nick is the 53rd Rotarian to receive the Bowl, which was first awarded in 1936. It is not presented every year, but only when the Rotary Club of Beaufort believes they have a member of who has exhibited significant civic responsibility over time.
For more than 40 years, Nick Hunt has worked tirelessly in both his Rotary Club and his community. He served with the local United Way for five years, he was on the board of the Salvation Army for five years, he recently completed two years as a board member of his church, and he has been a guardian with power of attorney for numerous patients with dementia at Summit Place.
Nick joined the Rotary Club of Beaufort in 1977, and became President of the Club at age 36.
Most notable among Nick’s many achievements has been his and his wife Rosemary’s involvement with the Youth Exchange Program and the Rotary Foundation Ambassadorial Scholarships.
A respected businessman in the Beaufort community, Nick Hunt is the 2016 recipient of the Rotary Club of Beaufort’s most prestigious awards.
