The Rotary Club of Carolina Forest Sunrise learned exciting news about the current and future status of Santee Copper’s solar panel home energy program. Nick Safay (left) of the Santee Cooper Solar Program  stands with Club President Dr.Kevin Kristick (right) during the weekly club program. Nick reported that South Carolina is the fastest growing solar market in our nation, ranking 35 the in the nation, and the residential sector is the fastest growing segment of the state -wide program. He reported that solar panels convert sunlight into clean, green DC electricity, which is then converted into usable AC electricity  at the home connection and is used to offset the Santee Cooper energy usage cost  while unused solar electricity is supplied back to the SC grid. He explained the residential lifetime warranted solar panels, the 30% federal income tax credit, the 25%  program rebates from Santee Cooper. For more details contact:
