Well over 100 children participated in our second annual Safety Town event. Each child visited 5 different venues to learn lessons about safety habits and actions: Road safety as they drove KettKars around Safety Town (thanks to Tom Trout for his working traffic signal); the hospital where teddy bears were treated with TLC; Stranger Danger and calling 911 (with a live operator), Friendly Firemen and the Hazard House; and the Sandbox craft stop with snacks.
Many thanks to Vic Neeley and Plantation Café for providing food for the 43 Rotarians, Interact members from HHIHS and HH Prep, and others who volunteered. Parents were effusive in their praise of the whole program and its organization. Thanks to all who served tirelessly on the committee to make it all happen.
