Little River, SC February 27, 2015:

Dwight Toavs and Rotary President Elect, Kathy Toavs both received the Paul Harris Award last week at the Rotary Club meeting in Little River.

In 1905 Paul Harris organized the first Rotary Club in Chicago.  In 1907, the club initiated its first public service project, the construction of public toilets in Chicago. This step transformed Rotary into the world’s first Service Club.

By the time of Harris’ death at the age of seventy-nine, Rotary International had grown to more than 200,000 members in 75 countries. Rotary International currently numbers 1.2 million members worldwide. The motto of Rotary International is “Service Above Self”.
