Windows Program Jan 2014 2On Friday January 10th the 2014 Rotary Windows program, organized and run by the Historic Rotary Club of Charleston, began at the new James Simons Elementary School. EMT Lamar Watkins of the Charleston Fire and Rescue Team presented to twenty 5th and 6th grade students the responsibilities of being an EMT and the education required to attain this position including CPR and First Aid.

Officer Watkins shared real life experiences of rescue missions involving plane crashes, car accidents, and the tools required to save lives. Officer Watkins also provided a tour of the Rescue Squad truck which fascinated the students and accomplished the true goal of the Windows program, “to expose youth to new educational opportunities and lay the foundation for future success.” Windows is celebrating its fourth year of operation in 2014.
