Cliff Mrkvicka brought a unique guest to a recent meeting of the Rotary Club of the Lowcountry.  The photo below shows Cliff holding the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl Champion’s Trophy, which will be presented to the winner of the bowl game played between Louisiana Tech and Navy on December 23 in Fort Worth, Texas.  To quote the banner that has accompanied the trophy on its recent tour of military bases, “The trophy is forged from decommissioned hardware parts from the United States Armed Forces and blended into one proud monument.  It’s forged from the guts of a U.S tactical fighter jet, a 40-ton transport plane, an attack helicopter, and our hometown namesake combat ship, the USS Fort Worth.  The Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl Champion takes home a testament to strength, heroism, and sacrifice.”  Thanks Cliff, for giving us a chance to learn more about (and hold!) this handsome, HEAVY, and special trophy.
