Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Daniel delivered 235 brand new dictionaries today to 3 Berkeley County elementary schools: Cainhoy Elementary School, Phillip Simmons Elementary School and Daniel Island Elementary School – one for every 3rd grader! The students were thrilled to receive their new reference books and immediately began looking up words, including the longest word in the English language: pneumonoultramicroscopicsilicovolcanoconiosis, a word that refers to a lung disease contracted from the inhalation of very fine silica particles, specifically from a volcano. image4image2
