DSC00916 Y J Tecklenburg 2 DSC00924The Historic Rotary Club of Charleston hosted local middle and high school students this winter through a World of Work program. Rotarians met with students at their businesses on Saturdays in December, January, and February to discuss career options and education/training needed to be in those fields. The work tours were part of a Club grant to the Y-Achievers program. The Y Achievers program provides purposeful targeted activities and information sessions geared towards educating teens. It is the goal of the Y Achievers Program to create educated, involved individuals that will contribute to the overall well-being of their communities. The students saw the following work sites: mass transit/public bus system, electric utility/engineering, law, real estate, banking, financial management, funeral and cremation services, and business/entrepreneurism.
