The Rotary Club of Lake Murray-Irmo meeting for the December 12, 2012 was a Christmas Program by Nursery Road Elementary School Gold Team.  The Gold Team is made up of 21 students from the fourth and fifth grades.  The Gold Team (Goal Oriented Leadership Development) prepares students to become leaders inside and outside of the school.  Among other aspects of the program, sponsors of the team focus on mentoring, academic support and service to others.  The students set a goal every nine weeks.  That goal may relate to academic, behavioral or personal achievements.  At the end of the nine weeks, every student that meets his or her goal is taken on a field trip at no expense to the student.  The Rotary Club of Lake Murray-Irmo is a proud sponsor of this program. The club members were thoroughly entertained by the students who played instruments and sang various Christmas songs.  This was a wonderful and entertaining event.  Special thanks to Mrs. Lisa Brooks, Music Director, and Ms. Jill Christmus, and Wendy Geiger, for this program.
