With only two months left in this Rotary year we have some success stories to share and a
chance to make history – 250 active PHS Members is within our reach!

To date we have had 28 generous Rotarians in District 7770 commit to making contributions of
$1,000 or more each year, thereby becoming new Paul Harris Society members. Photographs
of the presentation of their certificate of membership and Paul Harris society pin are few and
far between, but the following are pictures of some of our newest PHS Members.

Shannon Stephens – Hilton Head VanLandingham

Kathy Jones – Charleston

John Tecklenburg – Charleston

As more members join the Society, do please photograph the presentation of their regalia, and email
photographs to District Paul Harris Society Chair, David Tirard at davidtirard(at)aol(dot)com

DID YOU KNOW..?
– Paul Harris Society members represent only some 3% of the District membership, yet
contribute 30% of the total annual funds sent to the Rotary Foundation?
– Rotary Direct enables you to make your payments by installments, $85 per month, $250 per
quarter etc.? (email davidtirard(at)aol(dot)com for details)

$200 Per Capital Rotary Foundation Goal Is In Our Reach

WE HAVE A LOT OF WORK TO DO THE LAST TWO MONTHS IN ANNUAL FOUNDATION GIVING Last year (April 30, 2013) total Annual Fund (AF) giving – $ 506,092.58 This year (April 24, 2014) total Annual Fund (AF) giving – $ 584,617.40 STRIVE FOR A RECORD OF $200 PER CAPITA! If we are going to be successful in reaching $200 per member, it is critical that all 2013-2014 contributions get recorded before June 30, 2014. Historically, nearly half of all annual contributions to The Rotary Foundation are received between April and June. Delays in processing money and recognitions already exist at the Foundation, and the situation is only going to get worse as the end of the Rotary year approaches. Be a trend setter, have your Foundation contributions in by May. Again, think of May as the new June and submit your contributions no later than the end of May and preferably even earlier. This will be very important for clubs that are trying to earn the EREY and the 100% Sustaining Member Club banners for 2013-14. Remember… if your Clubs want to qualify for a District Grant in 2014-15, they must achieve EREY status by May 15, 2014! That is: Every active Club member gives something AND the Club averages at least $100/member.
