Please note the attached email from a former Coastal Carolina University employee. “Where are they now?”

“Hiro” worked in our International Office(Geoff Parsons)and while in that capacity sought appointment as a Rotary Peace Scholar-a most prestigious program sponsored by Rotary International.

Charmaine Tomczyk and I served as his sponsors/counselors as he sought this highly competitive appointment. He was sponsored by the Rotary Club of Conway, and in turn Rotary International District 7770 (central and coastal South Carolina).

“Hiro” was the first Rotary Peace Scholar in South Carolina and one of the few ever selected from the Carolinas.

Hiro is a Faculty Coordinator of Strategic Management and Intellectual Property Rights Program (SMIPRP), Graduate School of Business, Aoyama Gakuin University in Japan, District 2590. He is responsible for implementing intercultural education programs, designing crisis management protocols, and conducting program evaluation of SMIPRP. In addition, he is a member of a committee to internationalize the campus.

At his Rotary Club:

He is a special adviser to District 2590 (Yokohama/Kawasaki)(my former host district) on Global Grants and Scholarships. He provides consultation on finding a host district or club for our global grant and district grant scholarships. He also provides grant writing and editing in English when they are ready to propose their grants to Rotary International in the US.
