It gives me great pleasure to announce the Zone 33 National Immunization Day Polio Trip to India in February 2014.  Please share this with the Rotarians in your Districts and with anyone who may be interested. Family and friends are invited.

Currently, we do NOT have the final dates of the program but most likely we will be traveling mid February.

We are offering two travel options. Both will include hotel accommodations, all transfers and transportation (in India), most meals, sight seeing in Delhi, Agra (Taj Mahal) and Kolkatta, project visits, at least 2 days of immunizations, and more.

The following cost break down does NOT include your travel to India, visas, gratuities to our guide and drivers, team NID shirts, or additional medications/shots if recommended by your doctor.

You will need to book your own flight to Delhi and secure an Indian tourist visa. We will meet you at the Indira Gandhi International airport in Delhi (airport code is DEL) and take you to the hotel where you will meet the rest of the group.

Additional information about traveling in India can be found at my website at:

http://www.nid7730.wordpress.com. I’ll be updating the site periodically.

I am including a flyer that you can circulate throughout your Districts.

*Cost of IN COUNTRY tour including Agra to visit the Taj Mahal: $2,000.

*Cost if you are not going to Agra to visit the Taj Mahal: $1775.

*Based on double occupancy.

You may reserve your seat by sending a $500 non-refundable deposit to:

District 7770 is part of Rotary Zone 33 (just so you know.) Our 2012 – 2013 membership numbers are in, and District 7770 did a good job of retention overall, with a net loss of just 35 members for the fiscal year.

From District Governor Lou Mello
and Harriett Hilton, District 7770 RLI Coordinator

On September 20, 2013 the Rotary Leadership Institute will be held at South University in Columbia, SC.   This one day interactive course at three levels is designed to enhance a Rotarian’s commitment, sustain membership, increase the base of knowledge about Rotary, and enhance leadership skills relevant for our organization.

Clubs are encouraged to select a candidate per RLI session and support registrations costs for them. Please give this information to your club members and encourage them to attend.  In return your RLI participants return with stronger Rotary contacts, new ideas, and more dedication to the work Rotary can do.

Summary of each part is below.  We will offer the facilitated, not lecture based, training twice a year. Participants have a choice of completing the entire RLI course in a year within our district setting or speeding up the process by attending sessions in adjoining districts.

All levels are held in the 8:30 to 4:00 time period.  Registration and Breakfast begins at 8:00 AM. Lunch is also provided. Attendees take the three part course in order, one part per institute day. Part I centers around what being a Rotarian means, Part II focuses on effectiveness in your local club, and Part III blends techniques, collaborations, and programs to strengthen the Rotary journey.

Registration fee for the institute is $95 for Part I, $85 for Part II, and $75 for Part III.  The RLI Zone site for registration is www. RLI33.org or http://rlinews.blogspot.com. Then click on the registration section.

We have blocked rooms at the Columbia Courtyard Marriott I-77 with a special price of $94 including breakfast. Those wishing to come in the night before on Sept. 19 may call Courtyard at 1-803-736-3600 to reserve a room.  This rate will only hold until September 2, 2013.

Have one of your members plan to be with us on Friday, Sept. 20 and hopefully the night before for fellowship and to meet the faculty. Dinner the night before will be a Dutch treat for enrolled participants at a nearby restaurant.

Thank you for your ongoing service and your willingness to encourage other Rotarians to become stronger leaders and Rotarians.
