The Walterboro Rotary Club held its first Rotary Has Heart event Feb. 11, 2014. The club made a contributions of non-perishable food items and monetary donation of $125 to the Helping Hands Food Bank that will help combat the hunger. Almost 16 million children nationwide live in what is termed as “food insecure households.”
The Rotary Has Heart project used Valentine’s Day as the target date for this important drive and hopes to continue Rotary Has Heart into the upcoming years.
Walterboro’s Rotary has been helping the community since 1937 and is happy to continue assisting and improving our community through other charitable activities such as local university scholarships and donations to various local charities. Rotary is a group of civic-minded men and women dedicated to service above self.
