Gary Bradham, District Governor 2017-2018.

Gary Bradham is the District 7770 District Governor 2017-2018.  After graduating from The Citadel, he served in the United States Air Force for 25 years, retiring as a full Colonel.  His final Air Force assignment was Commander, Air Force Services Agency, with leadership and management responsibilities for all hospitality and morale, welfare, and recreational functions worldwide.  In addition to his BA in Business Administration from the Citadel, Gary holds a MBA from the La Tech University, and a National Security and Logistics degree from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces. Gary is a member of the Rotary Club of Myrtle Beach, since 2005, where he served as Club President (2011-2012).  He also served as Foundation Chair and Club Secretary.  He was named the Club Rotarian of the year in 2013.  He is a graduate of the Rotary Leadership Institute. Gary has served as the District’s Membership Chair; a Paul Harris Society member; and Finance Committee member.  As Membership Chair, he was instrumental in developing the district’s well recognized “e-member” classification program.  He was the recipient of the RI Club Builder award, Presidential Citation Award, and several District Service-Above-Self Awards. One of the most significant parts of his Rotary story was participating in a Polio   National Immunization Day, NID 2015, in India to keep India Polio free.  During this process, he helped to dispense vaccine drops to the children of India, protecting them from the dreaded polio disease in an effort to eradicate Polio. Gary is married to Susan, his wife of 44 years.  Susan is an e-member in the Rotary Club of Myrtle Beach.  They have two adult daughters and two grandchildren.  Gary and Susan are Major Donors, Bequest Society, Benefactors, and Sustaining Members.  Gary is a member of the Paul Harris Society.  They currently live in Elgin, South Carolina.

Sandee moved to Hilton Head Island in 1999 after retiring from Ameritech, the telephone company, in the upper mid-west, and has served on multiple Club and District Committees. Sandee has been a member of the Hilton Head Island Rotary Club for 16 years. She is a Past Assistant Governor, Past President and an RLI Facilitator. She has received the Presidential Citation Award, Distinguished Service Award, The Rotary Foundation District Service Award and Four Avenues of Service Citation. She and Mike are Major Donors, Bequest Society and Benefactors and a Paul Harris Society Member. Sandee has attended five Rotary International Conventions and currently works at Volunteers In Medicine as IT Support for the Electronic Medical Records System, training over 300 professional and lay volunteers on the system. She is married to Mike Rambo and has a daughter Jessica in Michigan with 2 granddaughters and two step-daughters, one in Fairbanks, Ak. and one in New Zealand. She is a member of the following non-profit organizations: Rotary 2000 to present, Women’s Association of Hilton Head Island 2004 to present, past president, Hilton Head Hero’s, Operation R & R, Heritage Library Foundation, Habitat for Humanities, Literacy Volunteers of the Lowcountry.

Kay has been a Rotarian since 1992 and served as Governor of District 7770 in 2003-04. She is a charter member of District 7770’s Paul Harris Society, a Major Donor, and a Bequest Society Member. She was named Rotarian of the Year by her club in 2005 and by her district in 2012. Since serving as district governor, Kay’s primary focus has been on promoting The Rotary Foundation in her district and in Zone 33. She has served a total of 4 years as a District Rotary Foundation Chair and 4 years as the District’s Annual Giving Chair. She has helped lead the district to set new records for giving including being #1 in the world in giving to the Annual Fund during the 2006-07 Rotary year and reaching $200 per capita for the first time in 2013-14.. She currently is serving her district as vice-governor for 2017-18. At the Zone level, Kay served as the Zone 33 Foundation newsletter editor for five years, served as an Assistant Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator for three years, and is currently serving as Regional Rotary Foundation Coordinator for Zone 33. Kay has received the Citation for Meritorious Service, the Distinguished Service Award, and the Service Above Self Award. Kay was born in NC but has lived most of her life in SC. She has four earned degrees from the University of South Carolina and served as an academic administrator and faculty member until her retirement in 2012. Kay’s current community service includes serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors for SAFE Federal Credit Union (a $1+ billion credit union) and serving on the Mid Carolina Commission on Higher Education. Kay is married to Dan Davis and between them they have 5 children and 12 grandchildren.

David Tirard joined the Rotary Club of Hilton Head Island in 2003. He is a Ten Star Rotarian and holds the Four Avenues of Service Citation. He was elected President in 2011, and he led the club to Large Club of the Year recognition at the District Conference in March 2012. At District level he has served on the Grants Committee since 2010, served as Paul Harris Society Chair since 2013 and as an Assistant Governor from the same year. He holds two Foundation District Service awards, a Distinguished District Service award, and was recognized as District Rotarian of the Year in 2014. He is a Major Donor, Paul Harris Society member and Bequest Society member. David is British by birth, and enjoyed a thirty-three year career with Barclays Bank Plc. Most of his career was spent in the UK, but a tour of duty in Zambia as a bank auditor really opened his eyes to the poverty suffered in a third-world country. (This experience helps fuel his passion for the Rotary Foundation). Upon retirement he came to the United States in 2001, where he met his wife Susan. They moved to Bluffton SC in 2002. She is also a Rotarian, and they enjoy two children and eight grand-children in the USA, and two children and three grand-children in the UK. In the little time they have outside Rotary, they enjoy cooking, gardening and looking after the three Golden Retrievers they have rescued.

Johnny Moore is a member of the Rotary Club of Chapin Sunrise. He was born in Spartanburg, SC and graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1971. He enrolled at Clemson University in 1971 where he majored in Industrial Management and joined the Air Force ROTC program where he earned a four- year ROTC scholarship. He graduated in 1975 with a B.S. in Industrial Management and was a distinguished graduate of Air Force ROTC. He has worked in the garment manufacturing industry, the bottling industry, sold computers for four different companies and founded SouthMed, Inc., in December 1992 which he still owns. Johnny joined the Rotary Club of St. Andrews-Columbia in September 2007 where he served as Club President for 2010-2011 and Foundation Chair for 2011-2012. He transferred to the Rotary Club of Chapin Sunrise effective July 1, 2012. He served as Assistant Governor for Area 3 of District 7770 for 2013-2016. Johnny became the District 7770 Membership Chair in July of 2016 and is slated to serve in that role through June 2019. He is a Paul Harris Fellow and a Bequest Society Member. He is married to the former Susan Anne Saine of Irmo, his college sweetheart; and they have been married for over 40 years. Johnny and Susan have three daughters all married to Godly young men and seven wonderful grandchildren with two more on the way in 2017. He is a member, choir member, drama ministry member and Elder (not currently serving) at St, Andrews Presbyterian Church in Irmo. Johnny’s hobbies include fishing, woodworking and shooting sporting clays.



Rotary International Vice-President 2013 – 2014 Anne Matthews

District 7770 is proud to be the Rotary home of Dr. Anne L. Matthews, Rotary International’s first female Vice-President 2013 – 2014.  She is a member of the Columbia East Rotary Club and has had perfect attendance since joining in 1989. She is a Past District Governor, and was named Rotarian of the Year in her club for 2005 & 2006.

Dr. Matthews is only the second woman Rotary Foundation Trustee and the third woman elected to serve as a Rotary International Board Member (2012-14).  She is also the first woman Foundation Trustee and the first woman Rotary International Board member from my Zone (33). More info here.

Dr. Matthews, an educator, has served in several management roles, including the South Carolina Department of Education, and on many national and state boards.

A Rotarian since 1989, Anne served as a trustee of The Rotary Foundation, a member of the Future Vision Committee, a regional Rotary Foundation coordinator, and twice as lead assembly trainer.

She received the Citation for Meritorious Service, Distinguished Service Award, and Service Above Self Award. Anne is a Major Donor, charter member of the Bequest Society and the Paul Harris Society, and a Benefactor.
