On Wednesday, April 11, Rotarian Terry Rogers was honored as the 2016-2017 Rotarian of the Year for the Rotary Club of Cheraw. This delayed honor was due to Terry’s extensive travel for his job and his travel on behalf of our International project.
Terry has made a tremendous difference in many lives within the U.S. and beyond. He leads the efforts and makes the trips for our ongoing wheelchair project in Chile.
We now have 1 repair shop up and running with 5 volunteers, excluding the Rotarians. We hope to have the 2nd workshop in the near future.
This past year, we distributed or repaired 26 wheel chairs. We also distributed 22 other mobility equipment to families such as walkers, bedside commodes or crutches.
Our partner Rotary Club of San Bernardo has approximately 80 members that have contributed in different levels.
Terry is a very deserving individual and exemplifies “Service Above Self.”
