A quick story and photo on Levi Vonk, one of our current Ambassadorial Global Grant Scholars at Sussex University in the UK. He has received a Fulbright Grant that will allow him to do research in León, Mexico for a full year in 2015.

Levi is a 2012 graduate of the College of Charleston and has worked extensively in South Carolina with immigrant populations and has dedicated his academic and professional path to bettering the lives of immigrants and their families.

In his own words……..

My Fulbright grant will allow me to do research in León, Mexico for a full year in 2015.  I’ll be conducting independent research on migrant reintegration in the state of Guanajuato.  That is, I’ll be studying how Mexican migrants who have been living in the US are reintegrating into Mexican society, why they decided to move back, what opportunities there are for them in Guanajuato, etc.  All the research that I’ll be doing will be directly modeled after the anthropological research I’ve done in Sussex, meaning that without my Rotary Grant the Fulbright research wouldn’t be possible.
