The fifth year partnership fund raiser with Long Bay Symphony’s Youth Orchestra was held at the Myrtle Beach High School Auditorium recently. Ticket sales and program ad sales exceeded expectations and the performance of young area artists was again outstanding.

This fundraising event permits the Carolina Forest Sunrise club to sponsor ” Happy Feet” which allowed 60 elementary school students to buy new shoes for their first day of school; ” Clothes Closet” for students with clothing needs in two local elementary schools; ” Dictionary Project”  which  provides a dictionary for every third grader in every elementary school; a $1,000 scholarship to a Carolina Forest HS senior; provide landscaping maintenance on road medians on Carolina Forest Boulevard; and continued support of Rotary International’s signature program to eradicate polio world- wide.

Carolina Forest Sunrise Rotary Club Dictionary Distribution to  500 Third  graders.


The RC of Carolina Forest Sunrise distributed more than 500 dictionaries recently to third grade elementary students at the following schools: Ocean Bay Elementary, Waccamaw Elementary, River Oaks Elementary, Carolina Forest Elementary. Teams of Rotarians visited these schools, interacted with teachers, distributed the books and instructed students on their contents and uses. This annual event is a ten year Club tradition eagerly anticipated by the children.
