The Chicora Rotary was extremely proud to have Ryan Weldon as a guest speaker to speak about a project that he is trying make the public aware of, that being Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. This is the major cause of suicide for returning veterans. The statistic being used before Ryan’s project was 22 veterans and one active duty service member committed suicide every day.
This 27 year old Marine Corp. veteran from Myrtle Beach walked 5000 miles across the United States spreading the word about the dreaded disease of PTSD. It was a amazing journey covering 13 states, starting in Delaware and ending in California. The Chicora Rotary was honored to have this Patriot who served 4 years oversee in Iraq and who started the “5000 Mile Discovery Walk” project to speak at our club.
