Daniel Island Rotary Club’s March Round-up

On March 3, 2021 Retired Colonel Steve Harrison spoke at the Club’s weekly breakfast meeting held in person and virtually. Steve has traveled the world and is a Rhodes Scholar and graduate from the Air Force Academy. He spoke about American values and the military’s role in the world.

On March 12, 2021, Dr. Troy Hale, chief strategist of SC Credit Union, author and speaker, spoke at the Club’s weekly breakfast meeting held virtually. Troy specializes in talent retention and cohesion in the work place including tackling those challenges that remote working presents.

On February 17, 2021, Bill Cannon, past President of the Club, shared his vision about starting Rotary Ready at the Club’s weekly breakfast meeting held virtually. Rotary Ready is a volunteer organization that partners with medical providers to administer the COVID vaccine. Over 1500 volunteers are currently registered.

On February 24, 2021 Mark Smith, local owner of 6 funeral homes, state house representative and long time Rotarian was the speaker at the Club’s weekly breakfast meeting held virtually. Mark shared with the Club pending legislation and some of his ideals and experiences that shaped his life.

Susan Garcia is February‘s Member of the Month. Susan is the owner of the UPS Store on Daniel Island and is a dedicated Rotarian.

Rotarians provided much needed diapers and baby wipes to HALOS and worked several local vaccination sites.
