Rotarian Bill Stevens has been a member of the Rotary Club of Daniel Island since 2006. At different times he has served as Community Service Chair, Fundraising (Duck Race) Chair, Public Image Chair, and a member of the Board of Directors. He was Rotarian of the Year in 2009 and was Club President in 2013-2014 when the Club was selected as the Rotary District Club of the Year. He is a member of the Paul Harris Society supporting the Rotary Foundation.
Bill and his wife, Ann, have been Daniel Island residents since 2003. They have four children and ten grandchildren. They enjoy travel and time with friends on Daniel Island. Ann enjoys water aerobics and reading. Bill enjoys golf and had the thrill of winning the Daniel Island Club’s member-guest tournament with one of his sons and then again with another son. Ann and Bill collaborate on writing the Daniel Island News Drollery humor column featuring the fictional Dalton Williams and his lovely wife, Grace.
In addition Bill volunteers on the Grants Committee of The Daniel Island Community Fund, the Advisory Board for the Citadel Distinguished Scholars Program, and the Advisory Board for the Citadel Cadet Corps Leaders Mentor Program, where he has mentored a number of Citadel students. Before moving to Daniel Island Bill worked for 35 years at Deloitte, the accounting, tax, and consulting organization. He started as an intern and finished his career as a National Managing Partner and Vice Chairman of the firm.
