Daniel Island Rotary Club’s round-up for the month of July started off with a membership meeting held virtually which allowed our club to host break out sessions of 4-5 members in small chat rooms. Members enjoyed the opportunity to have one on one conversations with one another.
On July 15, 2020, our very own Bill Stevens spoke to the club at the weekly breakfast meeting held virtually about his journey in preserving your family history. Bill provided useful advice and insight into the process and encouraged others to document their own history.
On July 22, 2020, Gil Kerlikowske, former US Commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Chief of Police for Seattle, provided a mesmerizing discussion to the members at the weekly breakfast meeting held virtually as to his experiences and opinions based on his entire career being spent in law enforcement.
On July 29, 2020, Jody Stallings, teacher and columnist for the Moultrie News, spoke to our members at the weekly breakfast meeting held virtually about his no-nonsense approach to education based on his over twenty years of experience as a teacher.
Our club was glad to welcome the addition of three new members, Mark Smith, Ashley Henyan, and Jason Hill. Members joined forces with ECCO to host a food drive in the Cainhoy Community. Stay tuned as to Daniel Island Rotary Club’s upcoming fundraiser for 2020!
