Dr. Byron has been a Rotarian for over a decade and has served in numerous leadership capacities, among them: President of the Rotary Club of St. George and Assistant District Governor of Area 12.
He practices what he teaches, as can be seen in his professionally owned dental business, as well as his service to humanity.
For Rotary, the “Four – Way Test” is the cornerstone of all action. It has been for years, and it will be in the future, of the things we think, say and do:
1. Is it the TRUTH?
2. Is it FAIR to all concerned?
3. Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIPS?
4. Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
The test is one of the hallmarks of Rotary. Since it was developed in 1932 by Herbert J. Taylor, who later became Rotary International president, it has never ceased to be relevant. Its four brief questions are not based on culture or religion. Instead, they are a simple checklist for ethical behavior. They transcend generational and national borders.
This special club recognition commenced under our current District (7770) Governor Ed Duryea’s administration. From the 79 club nominees from District 7770, the Eastern part of South Carolina, one nominee will be selected as the “4 – Way Test Honoree of the Year. This presentation will take past at our Annual District Conference to be held in Myrtle Beach this March 2013.
In accepting the award, Dr. Byron said “I am totally caught by surprise as I knew nothing about such going ones. I am truly humbled. We have such a great club that has many others just as or more deserving.
