The Florence Rotary Club celebrated 100 years of “Service Above Self” on February 27. We had a Super celebration with over 200 attendees. We had a delicious meal at the Florence Center while “Elvis” sang to us. We had it “Our Way.” We debuted our “Centennial History, Florence Rotary Club of Florence, SC,” edited by Mark Buyck, Jr. and Holly Beaumier. Former RI VP, Ann Matthews, delivered a stirring keynote address.
Rappin’ Rotarian, Tommy Taylor, thanks his Task Force for such a splendid event. “The next 100 years should be even better,” he explained because “Ro-ta-Ry is the Club for me.”
This Sunday marks the 78th opening of the Florence Rotary Beauty Trail. It is the only one of its kind in the world. Maps and CDs are available narratedby thelate Tom Kinard, at Florence Library, Florence Visitor’s Bureau, and Taylor Garden & Gift Shop.
