Historic Rotary Club of Charleston Provides Grants to Local Organizations
On behalf of the historic Rotary Club of Charleston and the Rotary Club of Charleston Fund Committee, Past President Amy Jenkins presented several local organizations with grant checks on May 1, 2012.
Kiki Cooper and Captain Thomas Richmond accepted a check for $1500 on behalf of the Salvation Army. Our club’s donation will be used to purchase a self-contained ice maker to benefit adults and youth at the Salvation Army Community Center in West Ashley.
Representing Coastal Carolina Boy Scouts was Rotarian Legare Clement and Fred Whittle. The Club donated $1000 to purchase a gun safe to secure firearms at the shooting range at Camp Ho Non Wah.
Joe Elmore represented the Charleston Animal Society and accepted a check for $1000 on behalf of his organization. The rotary donation will be used to purchase 20 dissection manuals for the “Shadowing at the Shelter” program.

The next deadline for submitting RCCF grant applications is September 1. Interested organizations are required to submit a Letter of Inquiry and a complete grant application prior to September 1 to be considered.
