Rotarians from across Horry County volunteered at the McLeod Health’s 2 day mass vaccination event held at the Myrtle Beach convention center on March 2nd and 3rd.  A total of 5,000 doses of the Moderna vaccine were available for people in Phase 1a of South Carolina’s vaccination plan.  Rotarians and other volunteers helped by directing traffic and parking, shuttling people from their cars to the convention center and checking ids.  The actual vaccines were administered by healthcare professionals including Horry-Georgetown Technical College nursing students and members of Myrtle Beach EMS.
More volunteers are needed for future vaccination events.  If you would like to sign-up to volunteer, please visit https://www.RotaryReady.org.  Signing-up is quick and easy and you will be notified when future volunteer opportunities are available in your area.
