Lieutenant Johnathan Evans speaks to the Myrtle Beach Chicora Rotary club about fire safety. Providing great tips and tricks not only to keep your home safe but your family prepared in the event of a fire. 
Lieutenant Jonathan Evans is a 12-year veteran of the Myrtle Beach Fire Department and currently works as a Deputy Fire Marshal in charge of public relations for the department. Lt. Evans was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, but has lived in the Grand Strand area for the last 22 years. Lt. Evans started his journey with the Myrtle Beach Fire Department in 2007 as part of MBFD Recruit Class 20. In 2011, Lt. Evans completed his associate degree in business with an emphasis on Fire Administration at Horry Georgetown Technical College. Throughout his career with the MBFD, Lt. Evans has been stationed at five of the six fire stations in the city and has worked a myriad of different incidents throughout his career. In 2015, Lt. Evans was promoted to the rank of Firefighter Engineer and served in that role for about a year before being promoted to his current position.
