Fox Simmons, Rotarian and newly appointed Myrtle Beach City Manager presented fellow Rotarians with a ‘state-of-the-city’ address providing information on economic development, planning, the beaches, and the City’s response to Covid. The City has been applauded for its efforts in handling the pandemic including mask mandates, social distancing, and sanitation.

Fox, who was born and raised in Syracuse, NY, received a Bachelor of Arts from High Point University in North Carolina in 1993, and his Master of Public Administration from The American University in Washington, D.C., in 1995. 

He worked briefly in the  private sector before returning to local government in 2001.  Working for the City of Greenville, SC., he was part of the team that put together the financing for some of Greenville’s largest projects, such as Falls Park, Flour Field, and RiverPlace. Prior to joining the City of Myrtle Beach in 2015, Simons had been city administrator in Easley, SC.
