Little River, SC June 15, 2015: The Rotary Club of Little River is partnering with the North Myrtle
Beach Christian School in developing a new Interact Club. The officers of the 16 student group include
Joseph Mabry- President, Shiloh Widener-Vice President, Kaitlynn Funderburk-Treasurer, and Joshua
Mabry, Secretary. The new club was presented with an Interact Banner to hang in their school and the
officers received their Interact pins.
Interact is Rotary’s service club for youth ages 12-18. The Rotary Club of Little River sponsors this club and
provides them with support and guidance, but each Interact club is self-governing and self-supporting. The
goals of Interact include developing leadership skills and personal integrity, demonstrating helpfulness and
respect for others, understanding the value of individual responsibility, hard work, and advancing international
understanding and goodwill. Our club’s New Generations/Youth Service Director is Donna Levinski, who acts as
the Rotary club’s liaison to the Interact Club. The school’s advisor is Fawn Evans, who works closely with the
group in directing them in their projects throughout the year.
The 16 NMBCS students involved in Interact participate in community service activities in their own school,
sponsoring fundraisers for local and worldwide charities plus participating with their sponsor Rotary club at
their fundraising activities.
Please consider joining us, every Wed. at noon at the CB Berry building at Vereen
Gardens in Little River.
