Joelle Zingg is from Zweisimmen, Switzerland—a quaint village ski resort and tourist area in the Swiss Alps. She has a younger sister and brother and lives with her mother, who operates a campground and bike rental operation. Joelle is attending Beaufort Academy and will be 17 in November. She is fairly conversant in 4 languages (German, English, French & Italian!), plays piano, enjoys horseback riding and singing in a choir at home. She is on the Swim Team at BA. Her first host family is Holly & Nick Davidson. The second, Amy & Doug Hamilton, parents of Bethany Johnston who spent last year in Germany on exchange. Her third family will be Charles and Casey Tumlin.

Dylan Gosling-Caceres is from Asuncion, Paraguay, one of two landlocked countries in South America. Dylan also lives with his mother, who is a psychologist, and with his grandparents. He has one older sister. Dylan is 15 and will not turn 16 until March, 2016. Before coming all the way to the United States, Dylan had only been out of his native country one time–travelling to Cordoba, Argentina, on a school trip. And he had never seen the ocean. Dylan is a sophomore at Beaufort High. His first host family is Kate Olin who lives on Fripp Island so he will really see the ocean! Rosemary & Nick Hunt will be his second host family, and Whitney & Todd McDaniel will be the third host family.
