CAROLINA FOREST, SC (8/20/2019) — Rotarians, rotaractors, and twenty-eight international students, from countries including China, Spain, Germany, and England, all worked together Monday to collect clothes for local students in need for the local Clothing Closet. The Rotary International district grant project was a huge success thanks to all the students and the staff of the Walmart located in Carolina Forest!

Each school semester, the Clothing Closet is coordinated by the Rotaract Club of Coastal Carolina University, sponsored by the Rotary Club of Carolina Forest. For the 2019 Fall semester, the club was able to serve one local middle school and four local elementary schools. This semester, over $1,000 was spent for local students and the rotaractors will follow up spending just as much in the fall, when Winter clothing is available in the store.

Pictured is the Rotary Club of Carolina Forest members with the Rotaract Club of Coastal Carolina University with shopping carts outside of Walmart. Also pictured is Rotaractors and Rotarians shopping and purchasing the needed items for the Clothing Closet. Thank you Rotarians Porter Medley and Dr. Darla Domke-Damonte (pictured at the register) for helping CCU students coordinate this event.
