Ron Stafford, President-Elect of the Rotary Club of Cheraw, recently put Service Before Self when he presented at the Instructional Technology Council national Conference. Stafford’s talk, Textbook Poor, but OER Rich, discusses the successful OER transition he has led at Northeastern Technical College. Ron and colleague, English and Religion Instructor, Mark Knockemus, have presented this topic at many conferences. Ron and Mark are often called upon by other colleges to help them transition to OERs. Stafford is passionate about saving students money by reducing the cost of textbooks. Ron is a leader in the Open Education Resources movement in South Carolina.
