Susan Garcia is the owner of The UPS Store on Daniel Island. She opened the store 10 years ago when the island was much less populated. The business has grown as the island has grown, thanks to the kind support of the residents of the island who support local. She moved to the Charleston area about 21 years ago, working for Blackbaud. She and her husband, John, lived in Charlotte for over 14 years where they built an executive coaching/outplacement firm with 7 offices in North and South Carolina. They sold the business and ultimately moved to Charleston. Susan grew up in Pittsburgh, attended the University of Pittsburgh, and is a Steelers fan.
When Susan lived in Charlotte, her friend’s father was a Rotarian and District Governor. When she attended his funeral, the local Rotarians in Yuba City, CA gave him a most memorial funeral ceremony. She was so impressed and promised herself that when she had an opportunity she would join Rotary. When she started her business on Daniel Island she decided that it was time, so she joined the Rotary club of Daniel Island. Susan has been a loyal, reliable Rotarian and wonderful weekly supporter in contributing her time and talents.
