Rotary Club of Forest Acres meeting on August 5th, was the kickoff for our Membership Drive which will take place the month of August. We heard from one of our own, Arlene Bukutes about being flexible in the type of club we offer to prospective members. Sandy Olson, our membership chair, lead us in a rousing rendition of “Get Back” to 50 members Strong. We also caught up with news about some of our members who have not been able to attend our recent Zoom meetings.
Our speaker was from Feonix- Mobility rising, a group which is funded by AARP, whose purpose is to connect anyone in Richland and Lexington county with needed transportation. While their main client group is individuals 50+ years. They will help anyone find the best means of transportation for their need and make arrangements for their transport. This includes those needing assistance such as wheelchair or stretcher transport and those physically impaired or visually impaired.
