The Rotary Club of Hilton Head Island is pleased announce that two high school students have been selected to receive four-year scholarships in the amount of $4,000 each for the 2020-21 academic year to pursue their dreams of attending college. The scholarship awards are renewable for each of their four years of post-secondary education, offering a total of $16,000 in scholarship support, pending communication with our Rotary Club at the end of each year to inform us of their plans for the coming year. They joined our Rotary Club meeting via Zoom on May 21st to receive their awards and tell us about themselves and their college plans and aspirations. This year’s Rotary scholarship recipients are Riley Hay and Tania Ramirez, both seniors at Hilton Head Island High School. They were chosen from a pool of 31 applicants from our island’s high schools. Applicants were evaluated on their potential for post-secondary success in a university or technical college as indicated by Academic Performance, Financial Need, Community Service, Work Experience, and Letters of Recommendation.
