Members of the Rotary Club of the Lowcountry served Lowcountry Supper to a huge crowd at the 64th Annual Beaufort Water Festival on July 18th.
More than 3,000 came out to enjoy this South Carolina delicacy, as volunteers served over 1,300 pounds of shrimp, 1,200 pounds of sausage, 2,800 ears of corn and 700 pounds of potatoes to feed the waiting community.
“It’s terrific. The people are all happy. The food is great, and I haven’t seen anybody without a smile on their face,” Rotary Club volunteer Mark Masterson said.
The event is always one of the highlights of the 10 day festival in Beaufort, and always has a great turnout for the members to come out and work. In addition to Thursday night’s dinner, club members also served beverages at Monday night’s Motown Monday concert, and at the Talent Show on Wednesday evening.
