ShelterBox is an international disaster relief charity that provides shelter and other emergency supplies to disaster survivors worldwide. In 2012 ShelterBox became Rotary International’s first Project Partner and strategic partner for disaster relief. I am a Rotarian in District 7770 and a member of the ShelterBox USA Ambassador Council, responsible for virtually all of Zone 33. I would love an opportunity for a team member, or me, to make a presentation to your club on behalf of ShelterBox USA. We can do this virtually via Zoom or in person.
The mission of ShelterBox is “to deliver humanitarian relief in the form of equipment and materials that bring shelter, warmth and dignity to people made homeless by natural or other disasters worldwide.” ShelterBox has firmly established itself at the forefront of international disaster relief, providing aid to survivors of over 300 disasters in more than 100 countries. Our presentation gives an overview of our mission, who we serve, and our life-saving equipment relating to our work.
The benefits to both ShelterBox and Rotary are enormous. ShelterBox receives incredible support from Rotary and is a catalyst in encouraging more people the world over to become involved with their local Rotary Club. ShelterBox provides support as a club’s international project via speakers and supplemental material. Plus, ShelterBox offers multiple youth opportunities for culture exchange and leadership training.
In addition, we are always looking for dedicated individuals who would like to serve as their club’s liaison (Club Champion) for ShelterBox. It would be great for every club in District 7770 to hear the ShelterBox story; and we stand ready to make that happen.
