Spring Valley Rotary Club has scheduled their next  American Red Cross Blood Drive for Tuesday, January 26  from 2 to 7 p.m. at Spring Valley Presbyterian Church located at 125 Sparkleberry Lane  in Northeast Columbia.

“The Red Cross urges donors of all blood types to donate blood in order to prevent a shortage this winter. Each appointment made and kept, and each unit of blood given, offers hope to a patient in need,” said Stevie Johnson, Rotary blood drive coordinator.

Donors need to be a minimum of 17 years of age and in general good health. Individuals who are 16 years of age can donate if accompanied by a parent. High school students and other donors 18 years of age and younger also have to meet certain height and weight requirements.

To make an appointment, call Stevie Johnson at (803) 338-1711 or sign up online at www.redcrossblood.org. (Type in the sponsor code of SV Rotary and follow the directions.) Appointments will be honored and walk-ins are welcome. For questions regarding donor eligibility, call the Red Cross at (803) 251-6000. All donors will receive a Red Cross t-shirt.
