Conversations With Rotary Action People

The Public Image committee has created a weekly series conducting interviews of interesting people, special projects, and Rotary topics. They are conducted on Zoom every Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 11AM. The meeting is recorded and simulcast on Facebook Live.

The programs are 20-30 minutes long and can be used in place of a club speaker, for training and membership recruitment. Many clubs offer a meeting make up for attending.

The scheduling of speakers is located on Front Pageof  DACdb and can be viewed on the Rotary District7770 YouTube page.

The 2016 inaugural Rotary District Cruise was the perfect way for people to take off for a few days, relax and have fun. Arthur Jamison from the North Charleston Rotary Club headed up this expedition and made the event very successful. One hundred dollars per ticket was added to the District CART fund. The seas were a little rough starting out but then people got their sea legs and finished up with a Rotary cocktail reception on the last day at sea. The Lowcountry Beaufort club won the award for the largest in attendance from their club. Look for Arthur to make this a annual event. duck race pic 2015 drop (2)Eight Charleston-area Rotary Clubs (Daniel Island, Goose Creek, Johns Island, Mt. Pleasant, North Charleston – Breakfast, North Charleston – Lunch, St. Andrews, and Summerville) combined to make the 2015 Rotary Charity Duck Race a great success. 30,000 rubber ducks raced down the Wando River on a beautiful day. The people who came to the event enjoyed paddleboard and kayak races, a car show, games and activities for children, food and beverages, a band, and prizes for the folks who adopted the first 35 ducks to the finish line, including a new car from Hendrick auto dealers for the first place duck. The real winners were area charities and Rotary programs to change lives and build better communities. Over $120,000 was raised for these purposes bringing the 9-year total raised to over $1,000,000!
