Joining in the “Rotary Has Heart” Valentine’s Day project, the Rotary Club of Beaufort donated 35 grocery bags (5 shopping carts ) filled with non perishable food to HELP of Beaufort to be distributed to the needy, and $167 to support their emergency assistance and Mobile Meal programs.

Rotary Club of Beaufort Helps the Barney Marshal Memorial Food Drive

Annually members of the Rotary Club of Beaufort are asked to fill a shopping bag with non-perishable food items or alternatively give money for use by HELP of Beaufort to furnish food baskets for needy families, This year the Club donated $573 in cash and checks, and 33 bags of food to provide assistance at Thanksgiving.

Congratulations to our Members -The Rotary Club of Beaufort is now a 100% Rotary Foundation Sustaining Member Club. President Sam presents Allen Freeman, the Rotary Foundation Chair, with a symbolic check for $10,050, representing the personal contribution of $100 by every member of the club to the Annual Fund during the Rotary year.
The Rotary Club of Beaufort Hosts an Ophthalmologist

Graham Holcombe (right) presents a check for $500 from the Rotary Club of Beaufort to Dr. Baxter McLendon (left) as a contribution to the joint American Academy of Ophthalmology/Rotary Foundation program “Host an Ophthalmologist” wherein young ophthalmologists from developing countries who have shown a strong interest in the prevention/reduction of blindness in their home countries and who have never been to the States before, visit a local Rotary Club for about a week and then go on to the AAO convention. In the center is Dr. Cheong Jirawison an ophthalmologist from Chaing Mai, Thailand who is visiting Beaufort under this program.
