Almost half of our club (and several spouses) showed up to cook hamburgers and hot dogs for more than 100 volunteers who cleaned Hunting Island State Park on Saturday, May 30. We also hosted 14 kids from the CAPA shelter for a fun beach outing. Pictured are 11 members and some spouses, but several more members missed the photo op!
Rotary Club of the Lowcountry attended the Beaufort High School Interact Club’s annual meeting for inducting officers for the 2014-2015 school year. The Beaufort High School Interact Club has 117 members who work closely with the Rotary Club of the Lowcountry in serving the community. During the ceremony, Kevin Dukes of the Rotary Club of the Lowcountry presented the Interact Club with a Four Way Test banner.
Rotary Club was happy to provide chicken, baked beans, cole slaw, fruit and desserts to the homeless and residents of the Northwest Quadrant of Beaufort. This is a quarterly service project that we truly enjoy being a part of. Many people show up for food and fellowship where we start the evening all standing in a circle with prayer before the meal is served.
Alice Howard presenting Club Builder Awards to Terri Stokes & Elliott. Both have recruited more than four members that are still active Rotarian’s. Both members are great Rotarian’s that truly know the meaning of Rotary.
Paula Bunton, spouse of Rotary Club of the Lowcountry’s member Kerry Bunton was honored with Rotary International’s Spouse Service Award last night. Lou Mello was on hand at Area 5’s Joint Installation Dinner to present the award which is one of only 100 given worldwide. We are so very proud of her and truly appreciate all she does for our club.
