4x9Rotary 4x9Rotary2Our district and the Hilton Head Island-Sunset club were invited to submit a proposal to bring the USGFR National Championship to Hilton Head Island in 2015. Our proposal was accepted, and we are honored to be hosting the event here on Hilton Head Island.

The United States Golfing Fellowship of Rotarians National Championship will bring Rotarians from across the United States and Canada to spend at least five days on Hilton Head Island.  Our commitment is to show all who participate in the tournament and their guests a great deal of Southern Hospitality in keeping with the high standards of District 7770.

Both the rack card and poster provide the essential facts about what is being planned, but what everyone needs to realize is that this is a big deal for our district and all its Rotarians. We are hoping many Rotarians from District 7770 will decide to participate in making the event a huge success. Specifically, we are asking those interested in competing to register to play in the event. Playing spots are limited so all who want to play need to let me know as soon as possible.

We are also asking those who are not necessarily interested in playing in the event to consider attending one or more of the fellowship events planned for May 17, 18 or 20. For example, the Low Country cookout at the Sonesta Resort Pavilion on May 18 will be the official make-up meeting event for all tournament registrants and a great opportunity for District 7770 Rotarians to learn more about the USGFR golfing fellowship.

We need everyone’s help in spreading the word about the 2015 USGFR National Championship.

Please contact Ed Dowaschinski with questions about the event. His email address is dower@roadrunner.com.
