A Coastal Carolina University annual scholarship will be made in honor of
John ‘Bratton’ Fennell, CPA, CGMA, a long-time member of the Myrtle Beach Rotary Club
and former Chief Financial Officer of Burroughs & Chapin Company, Inc.

Bratton, who retired earlier this year due to illness, was awarded the honor during the company’s annual
meeting. According to a company spokesperson, the scholarship will be awarded annually
to a deserving accounting major.

“We could not be more proud to have Bratton as a member of our club. His many contributions
to Rotary and local civic organizations exemplifies our motto of Service Above Self,” said
Mark Ousley, President of the Rotary Club of Myrtle Beach.

Bratton has relocated to Mt. Pleasant, SC to be closer to family. “He will be greatly missed,” said Ousley.
