Tom Vitt, Director of Marketing for HTC, presented Myrtle Beach Rotarians with an overview of the telecommunications industry and discussed the benefits of working with a local provider.

HTC, with seven centrally-located retail offices throughout Horry County, serves customers’ communications needs with local and long-distance telephone service, digital cable, high-speed internet, wireless service, home security and automation, and business solutions. 

According to Vitt, three of the most important reasons to choose a local provider include improved response times, keeping money within the community, and supporting local schools, charities, and civic organizations.

Founded in 1952 Horry Telephone Cooperative, HTC, is owned by its members (customers). “HTC’s members receive capital credits, the right to vote on important matters, competitive pricing, and can take pride in the fact that money generated within our community remains in our community to improve our quality of life,” Vitt said. 

HTC, through capital credits, has refunded $128 million to its members in the local community since 1979.  No other telecommunications company can make this claim.
